Frendh Onion Beer Soup

 

  •   2 Litres of water
  • 1/4 cup of Olive oil
  • 5 lbs of onions- medium chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 6 bottles of amber ale
  • 2 litres of beef broth
  • Garlic toast

 

 

In a large pot add olive oil and slowly cook onions until they are clear and almost carmelized. Then add 6 bottles of amber beer, 2 litres of beef broth, 2 litres of water and bring to a boil.

 

Place in a bowl and add toasted garlic bread or another bread of your choice. Place a slice of swiss cheese on top if desired.
